The ESHG awards prizes of EUR 600.- together with a free participation at the next conference for outstanding research by early career scientists (= not more than 4 years post-graduate work experience) presented as an oral contribution at the conference, namely:
– Early Career Awards for Outstanding Science
– Isabelle Oberlé Award for Research on Genetics of Intellectual Disability
– Lodewijk Sandkuijl Award for the best talk in Statistical Genetics
– Vienna Medical Academy Award for the best talk in Translational Medicine
– Mia Neri Award for the best talk in Cancer Research
– ELPAG Award for the best talk in the ELPAG track
Authors wishing to be considered for these awards must tick the appropriate boxes during abstract submission (Step: Further Details).
The application is open to:
- Students
- MDs: should not have more than four years work experience after completing the specialisation and should not be a Principal Investigator (P.I.).
- All other investigators: should not have more than four years post-graduate work experience and should not be a Principal Investigator (P.I.).
The application deadline was February 6, 2024. Applications after the deadline cannot be accepted.
All early career scientists who have applied for an award during the abstract submission are nominees for the awards. Each nominee must be first author (i.e. presenting author) of the abstract submitted for oral presentation and should not have more than four years post-graduate work experience and should not be a Principal Investigator (P.I.).
An Early Career Award for oral presentation is only presented once in a lifetime. This means that if you have already won an oral ECA award once, you are automatically no longer eligible.
Note: The best scored abstracts, which could not be selected for oral presentation, will automatically compete for the ESHG Poster Awards.
